Other Matters
=> Colin has arranged framing of the photo of The ‘Monteith’ - the cup presented to Edward Chute for his win on the Basingstoke racecourse. We hope to present this to The Willis Museum at the AGM.
=> Haymarket Theatre - the old market trader’s ‘fountain’ needs some attention and we are nagging the council to clean it up.
=> Aromatic Garden, Church Square - a member asked us to take this up with the council who have plans to restore it. It may look rough for a while as they are going to tackle the bindweed but it will be done!
=> South View Development - we have commented on this proposal which needs more green space and places for children to play.
=> Sculptured Sign in South View cemetery - we got a grant from the council to renew and restore this and it’s all done and looks good.
=> Heritage Open Day Sunday 13th September - Thanks to all of you who have volunteered to help on the day. We will need lots of stewards and helpers and it will be good fun, so do join in. Contact the secretary on 01256 473390
